Victoria Gregg

My practice

I have a background in clinical psychology and health education as well as experience counselling children, teens, students and adults in crisis.  I am experienced in helping struggling parents and have been a parenting mentor helping those adjusting to pregnancy to those parenting children of different ages and stages. I have also  assisted with groups for anger management, attachment parenting, and bereavement, volunteered on a suicide hotline, and have worked as a trauma therapist for children who have suffered adverse childhood events or abuse.

As I have a broad educational base I am familiar with many counselling methods so can be eclectic in my approach to counselling, allowing the needs of individual clients to inform my practice. I do however favour a solution-focused approach to help clients find a way forward while recognizing the influence of past events. I like to use creative methods in the counselling process, especially in my work with children. I have experience in using Trauma-focussed CBT and Trust-based relational intervention (TBRI) for parenting, which is unique in the island. I am also able to provide group sessions, debriefing and educational training on various aspects of mental health. I have a special interest in crisis intervention and psychological first aid.
