Sue Holbrook

My practice

As a person I am kind, caring, compassionate, loyal and genuine.  These principles form part of my personal core values.  I offer a confidential, safe space with empathy and non-judgement and I respect my clients' individuality and uniqueness at all times. These qualities, I believe, help build a trusting, collaborative relationship which are fundamental to a positive and successful counselling process.

Relationship focused Integrative Psychotherapy is at the heart of my practice. This means I hold the relationship between myself and my client as central to the process of healing and personal growth and all aspects of my client, including their emotions, behaviours, cognitions and physiology are considered.  This I believe helps support and encourage change. I underpin my counselling practice with a Person Centred approach while using a combination of many other theories such as Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness which are integrated into my practice to suit each client's individual and unique experience. I work with clients' presenting issues and where appropriate will look at past relationship patterns and experiences to facilitate my client to gain greater understanding of their behaviours, feelings and emotions experienced in the present.

I offer face-to-face and online counselling to my clients, depending what best suits their needs.
