We aim to create a safe, therapeutic space where you can talk openly about the issues that are troubling you. We are trained to work with you in exploring how you think about yourself, and recognise your strengths. The relationship with your counsellor is very important and we believe in building a lasting relationship and motivating clients towards permanent and positive change.
In supervision counsellors and other professionals who work with people have the opportunity to explore their work and its impact on them. Beatrice offers a free introductory session where you can ask any questions and explore the possibilities of a working relationship with her.
How much does it cost?
Standard fee: £50 per session, concession fee: £35. We believe that no-one should be excluded from counselling on the basis of cost, two places are offered at a minimal fee of £20 on a waiting list basis. Please feel free to ask.
Is what I tell you in confidence?
All information disclosed to the counsellor is treated as confidential. Should we feel a client is either a danger to themselves or to others, we reserve the right to inform outside agencies, but would not do so without, wherever possible, informing the client first.
Are you a member of a professional body?
Yes, we are members of the National Counselling Service and adhere to their Code of Ethics. Copies of these are available on request.
What can I expect from the counselling process?
During our work together we jointly review progress and consider and/or decide what further work/action/referral may be required. Sessions usually last for an hour normally on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
We are committed to providing a safe, therapeutic environment for all our clients. Within the therapeutic relationship we are making a commitment of time and energy to each other in deciding to work together and it is significantly important that the client realises that each session belongs to them to explore whatever they wish to.
